Venue and transport

The ESS Dublin 2020 Summer School will take place at University College Dublin (UCD) which is Ireland’s largest university. The campus at Belfield is four kilometres to the south of the city centre. UCD is known for its parkland setting and mature landscaping with over 8km of woodland paths. Learn more by downloading the UCD Woodland Walk Map and Guide.

UCD was founded by John Henry Newman in 1854, who sought to create a university that would “benefit the wider world” whilst encouraging “true enlargement of mind.”

The availability of UCD as a venue for this summer school has been made possible by Experience Japan and Summer at UCD.
